lmans Posted March 20, 2022 Share #1  Posted March 20, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) How easy is it to manual focus  using the 18mm pancake on the CL? I am guessing not all that easy. I am thinking of getting a CL as I have an X2 now and the small lens on that would be difficult to focus manually, hence they don't have that as an option. But on the CL...anyone? I am assuming since the 23mm is bigger, that it would be fairly easy to focus manually.... Thoughts? Thanks, jim
Advertisement Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Hi lmans, Take a look here Manual Focus 18mm or 23. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Le Chef Posted March 20, 2022 Share #2  Posted March 20, 2022 I have the 23mm and do focus manually from time to time, but most often I really don’t see the need for it. I’d not think it’s that much fun as a tactile experience, but it works. I use focus peaking to make sure I’ve got it right. If you manually focus most of the time then maybe the better option would be an M lens with an adaptor.
wda Posted March 20, 2022 Share #3  Posted March 20, 2022 Remember, you can select focus-assist which brings up a magnified image, which is a great help in obtaining accurate results.

Tried DZ + peaking but then forget to zoom out and reframe, or lose shot when I don't

Or vice versa for focus-assist.
