Q2 Monochrom. Making the raw files more dynamic?

With my M Monochrom. Without colour filters I used to fiddle a lot in Lightroom to get a desirable look. 
Then I opted for a selection of Yellow, Orange, Green and Light Red. 
Then no more edit needed. It was always perfect. Just need to choose the best filters for the next few hours. 
No need to change filters more than twice a day. 
Or just left yellow or Orange permanently on it.

Hey , 

 

to make the pictures „pop“, you need to invest some time. 
First while you take pictures (how much contrast is there in your scene)

Secondly in the RAw converter. 
 

if you pull down the lights and the darks up then you minimize the contrast. 
but if you counter with dehaze and clarity (not to much) , then you pictures may pop. 
 

but I can tell you that sometimes I spend a lot of time in photoshop too. And still I am not impressed or depressed. 

I did a short search for monochrome and workshop. 
 

this is a good start I guess. 
 

And I recommend a workshop at a place nearby. The exchange with other people is vital to get the pop into your pictures. 
But it’s no guaranty 😅.

Here's what I do:
Edit dng file in Adobe Camera Raw. I use the Auto button and then I use to increase the highlights a little, maybe exposure too.
If there is a sky, select and decrease exposure.  
Then open in photoshop and use Nik collection Color Efex Pro. Yes, you have to open as sRGB of course.
Play around a bit with Correct Contrast and Dynamic Contrast until it looks good.
When saving in Photoshop, don't forget to first change to grayscale. The file will shrink to about 40 mb.
