Also, I’m wondering, you didn’t go with the “Leica Certificate” repair type, did you? Because that type of repair will bring everything back to manufacture spec and comes with 2 years warranty. That’s an option when sending in your Leica in for repair but I’m not sure if it only applies to Leica M9 and up.

 

also curious about the sensor image banding prior to sensor replacement. Do you have any old pictures that you took and that shows the banding in the images? Thanks

Lol this sounds EXACTLY like what they told me. Just replied to his post

I just got my M8 back but my batteries + lens are in a different state so I cant even test.

Yeah, I just read your reply. Seems like the OP got a free sensor replacement after complaining. Worse part is, NJ didn't even open the camera up and customer service just spewed out BS saying it was broken to make a sale. 

I wonder if its too late for you to complain to HQ?
