Dob3rman Posted February 16, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all. Just ordered my first Leica, Q2 Mono. I would like to use my Godox flashes. What is the best way to use Godox. Do you recommend the Leica SF 40 or the 60 with the Q2? Thanks

TheCarpenter Posted February 16, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 16, 2022 I use the SF 40 with my X-Vario for off flash use and is is great. I can't imagine needing more features or power unless you are a pro. I have also bought the Godox Nikon 1.5m cord for hand holding the flash for off camera when I want full TTL and no direct trigger flash. Pointing 2 gadgets at a target at the same time with 2 hands ain't EZ. Hope this helps. Keep in mind that the SF 40 does not work with Leica's wireless trigger. Anakronox Posted February 16, 2022 Share #3 Posted February 16, 2022 If you already have Godox X system flashes, just get an X-Pro trigger for Nikon. I use these across all of my Leicas and they work great in manual mode. If you need TTL, then you’re stuck with Leica lights, unfortunately. But I find using manually controlled strobes to be better for when I need them. TTL has never given me great exposures in a studio setting.

Will that work or do I need the Nikon? Also, how about pocket wizards? I do have a few, Will they work?
Anakronox Posted February 16, 2022 Share #5 Posted February 16, 2022 The Fuji X-Pro also works without issue. I do have that one as well. No experience with the pocket wizards though. Sony triggers shouldn’t be used as they use a different pinout that can conflict with the Leica hotshoe pins.
