SWEETMLK Posted January 24, 2022 Share #1  Posted January 24, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey guys, I hope someone can help me.. I recently got a SL in great condition 2nd hand and a Sigma 85mm/1.4 HSM on mpb.com Everything works fine accept Auto Focus(Continuous). Its always "rattling" and micro focusing (you can see the distance number on the lens "shake". This isn't normal right ? When I'm shooting video and want to focus on a face it's very slow and always rattling. When I'm taking a photo with continuous focus on it's rattling even more and going in and out of focus. Please help.  Edited January 24, 2022 by SWEETMLK
Advertisement Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Hi SWEETMLK, Take a look here Auto Focus Problem with SL + Sigma 85/1.4 HSM. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoworks Posted February 1, 2022 Share #2 Â Posted February 1, 2022 you are using a sigma lens designed for DSLR's that have an integrated L mount adapter. Sigma came out with a newer lens already designed for mirrorless cameras. So to your question yes it is normal in AFC, in combination with contrast only AF system on the SL cameras the experiments in AFC is never great. Leica SL lenses do a little better because they optimized they motors to their cameras. But my preference is still to use AFS
