really happy with the RRS L Plate and a thumb support used together, much more secure grip for my large hands. 

got an after market thumb support which is ok for now, but have found a Leica OEM version and it's coming  eventually  

the RRS very nicely matches the machining on the Q2 and both battery and card are accessible with it attached. 

almost the most import thing is how well protected the camera seems, especially setting it down on random surfaces. 

also bought Leica's grip which is nice, almost elegant and will use it too occasionally I'm sure, but find the RRS more field-friendly, and of course arca swiss mount ready.
