Have never had a problem in light/moderate rain (I never shoot in pouring rain), with any M since the 80's. Jeff Unfortunately the rainy season here is in the summer, so jackets are out of the question. And I'm just not a hat guy :). My workaround is to use the 21mm SEM at hyperfocal. Or pull out the old Sony RX1 and hope it doesn't get wet.
Advertisement Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Hi blackdot, Take a look here M10R - Q2M or M10M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

The Q2M is brilliant and have since added a Q2 Reporter. Despite having nice lenses for the M10R, I find I'm more often using the Q2 combination. The 28mm lens doesn't bother me - often shoot in 35mm crop mode, which is perfectly fine. I need to make more money! I wouldn't want to part with either M, but those Qs look very nice. NICOFRANCA Posted May 28, 2022 Share #23 Posted May 28, 2022 I did just that. Had an M and Q2M. Figured I'd be better off with an M10M instead to use my lenses. The problem was the Q2M is so effortless and good at what it does, I couldn't duplicate it with M10M. Went back to a Q2M and M

In that case, I would prefer sticking with an M and using a small and light water resistant bag with accessible flap. An alternative would be using my SL2 with SL zoom… bigger and heavier, but no lens changing and no rain worries. Different strokes. Jeff
DaveSee Posted June 14, 2022 Share #26 Posted June 14, 2022 Greets! (Grußen Alles)! I've only primes & rangefinder kit, so I haven't the Q, nor S Leica variations.... most mobiles have a fixed 28 too, non? As the OP said, "returning to the M," okay, I paraphrased Leica M bodies--most of them--are "at hand" & feel that way, in touch with not just Meßsucher (viewing, heh, my friend calls me a shark b/c I always have my eyes open, even when one is trained on the viewfinder...)... but that's key, a tool "at hand," in hand... w/zone focus, I needn't be that "shark"(pixel peeper) either, although I do "peep" occasionally Okay, I've run a bit long, so here's a JPG straight from my M10M w/(now discontinued) Elmarit 24/2,8...
