Since I have followed this forum since long and learned a lot, time for a little pay back to the community. I am proud owner of an M11 since yesterday. Silver of course:-) (my personal taste). A superb camera. Too early to finally judge, my topic here: compatibility with existing M10 gear

Half cases

- the original Leica M10 Protector half case fits very well on the M11, however the screw for the tripod is placed differently, so no fastening possible. I made a trip to Chiemsee (near Munich in Germany) today, 10km walking. It did not fall off, the half case is sufficiently tight. And protecting. However - can't completely rule out the danger to loose;-)

- my Angelo Pelle M10 half case with detachable screen protector is a perfect fit, since it is fastened by the straps and not dependent on the tripod screw. However you need to like the design (covering small part of camera top, screen protection clipped on). I do:-)

- original Leica M11 Protector not available yet, classic design like m10 version. However Oberwerth has announced an interesting M11 half case with magnetic screen protector. I am a huge Oberwerth fan (great bags) and will give it a try when released next month

Thumb support

- my original Leica M10 thumb support fits perfectly on the M11, so I believe other brands should fit as well

Artisan and Artist also made an M10 half case that fastened at the strap, the advantage I find with this type case is a thinner base,  it doesn't raise the camera as much when set on a  flat surface causing less lens forward tipping.
