cpclee Posted November 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) The use of TL lenses on fullframe bodies has been mentioned by me and others recently. I think it will become an increasingly natural thing to do as cameras have pixels to spare. Then I came across this video by Nick Rains of Leica Australia testing the SL2-S with several lenses including TL ones. The TL pictures look great with a ton of detail even though they are "only" 10mp. Nick personally uses a CL system which he mentions in another video and is a big fan of that.

ruskkyle Posted November 25, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2021 The guys at Red Dot Forum often speak about using TL lenses on SL bodies to give a more portable but high performance set-up, and especially the 60mm macro TL which is the only L mount macro made by Leica. I can also see the 11-23mm TL being an essential video lens on the SL bodies which crop to Super35 (roughly APS-C) in slow-mo modes.

Yes I watched David and Josh's episode on macro and it was startling how good the 60mm macro TL is.
