I have a D-Lux 2 that I bought in 2006.  I still really like the pictures it takes and its ease of use, and I don't mind it being rather low-spec by today's standards.  Here are some I posted in the past when I was considering getting an M8.

It is not my only camera as I now have an M8 but I used to use it until I found the battery was always run down, and discovered it would turn itself on again some time after being switched off.  So the only way to keep the D-Lux 2 usable now is to remove the battery until just before it is needed - but then you have to set the time!  Is its time up, or is there a way I could open it up and mend the on/off switch which looks and feels normal from the outside.

Thanks, Matthew

Before making a decision,  ask your nearest Leica main dealer for an approximate estimate. Getting replacement parts might be difficult. If that doesn't work, approach Panasonic who made the camera. It just might be a little cheaper that way.

Please tell us the outcome. It might help other owners.
