Bob Ross Posted September 10, 2007 Share #21 Posted September 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) FWIW: If you google around, you can find suppliers of bulk nylon strapping, so you can taylor your own. As I recall the stuff is about 0.21¢/ft, Like others here I use the bandolier style for all my cameras and don't want a gripping surface interfering. For very light cameras, I have even been known to use heavy boot laces (72"). Bob
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Hi Bob Ross, Take a look here Shoulder strap. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wstotler Posted September 10, 2007 Share #22 Posted September 10, 2007 I use a Leicatime strap, the thinnest possible, a non-adjustable 90cm long, and just sling it over my shoulder, putting my hand on the camera. Ditto here. The Leicatime strap is quite nice--I was skeptical at first but found it does work better than the Leica strap that ships with the camera. dpattinson Posted September 10, 2007 Share #23 Posted September 10, 2007 I have the same issue with bag straps, which is why I really like the shoulder pad that Billingham provide for their bags. It allows you to sling a bag bandolier style and then slide it from front to back as the strap slips through the shoulder pad. A similar device, scaled down to a luigi strap or leica 'de-plasticed' strap would be great. Perhaps a new line for luigi to consider? David.

With the weight of the M8 I find the widest Luigi strap distributes the weight adequately without digging into the shoulder when worn across the chest. sjt1 Posted September 10, 2007 Share #25 Posted September 10, 2007 Thanks for the tip! I just did the straps on my M8's. This may allow me to carry the camera under my photo vest, instead of on top of the vest, and easily bring it up to my eye without having the strap get stuck between vest and shirt. woot! - thanks, now I have a rubberless strap Great! Glad it was of help to you chaps!
gesper Posted September 11, 2007 Share #26 Posted September 11, 2007 I use the Leicagoodies Strap which is a plain webbing strap with a sliding ring that attaches to your camera. (I attach it with their Hook which makes it easy to take it on and off for use with the Sling when I don't really need a strap). The sliding ring makes it very easy to get the camera to your eye even when wearing it bandolier style under your jacket.
