albertwang Posted August 14, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Okay, I'm actually gonna admit it but my M6 around my neck did attract a few high school ladies last year when I was at the Gateway Mall in SLC. So... Have you ever decided to prominently show off/drag your Leica around just to attract women/men (if you are a woman that is)? I would love to hear some stories about this. (P.S. My R8 doesn't seem to do me any tricks. I think that that most people are too intimidated perhaps?)
Advertisement Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Hi albertwang, Take a look here Leicas and courtship of women.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wizard Posted August 14, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2006 Well, when visiting Wells some weeks ago, I was trying to do a shot of the Bishop's palace and gardens while the light was just so good, i.e. relatively late in the afternoon, but unfortunately the place had already closed, so I leaned over the fence to grasp as good a view as possible. A nice lady apparently noticed my efforts and, spotting my M7 said "At least you have a proper camera!" and did let me in for taking the photos I wanted. How's that for a start? Since my wife wasn't far away, I did not explore the situation any further though... Andy

Andy An M7 owner isn't really an M7 owner until he knows how to explore such situations and report properly on that regardless of who is or isn't far away... Guest leica_mage Posted August 14, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2006 [...] Have you ever decided to prominently show off/drag your Leica around just to attract women/men (if you are a woman that is)? [...] 'If you are a woman that is': I'm not sure I get that bit: I'm a man, whatever it may be worth... But now that I think of it, Almondovar should be very attracted to this thread - it might even get him attracted to Leica!! Best,

albertwang Posted August 14, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted August 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) No doubt, I think that Leicas make good chick magnets. Particularly M's. Bigger isn't always better!
Findus Posted August 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 14, 2006 "Good Chick magnets" are personality, openness, intelligence and possibly a huge d*ck.... if you have none of these an "M" will probably get you along a bit .... with very few "chicks" that would arouse your interest .... But as long as you are prickled by the throught of bein able to attract women with you'r "M" .. you wouldn't care less, as long as "it" has a pair of 135mm size boobs and an "ever ready" case..... Findus Posted August 14, 2006 Share #9 Posted August 14, 2006 a Car forum is allready under discussion, why not a "T&A" forum as well as a "wish I could have these tattoo's, only my wife would find out (eventually)" or perhaps "how far do I stick my elbow out of the window" forum

Best, Point taken . I probably haven't owned my M7 long enough to really become an M7 owner in that sense, but I'm always open and willing to learn :) Best, Andy
hrosell Posted August 15, 2006 Share #12 Posted August 15, 2006 Have you ever decided to prominently show off/drag your Leica around just to attract women/men (if you are a woman that is)? I would love to hear some stories about this. Albert, I recall two occassions: one while strolling in Nuremberg with two M6 hanging but I assumed at the time that the lady in a group that was insistently looking at me probably did so out of pure envy; the 2nd one was in Venice when my ex-wife –at the time by my side– advised me that one guy that was looking at me seemed to be making signs to another one some meters appart on a rather suspicious attitude... So, beware my friend! Regards, Horacio
leicapfile Posted August 15, 2006 Share #13 Posted August 15, 2006 In photography, and other aspects of life; "It ain't the sword, it's the swordsman." Not my original quote, but I think that pretty much covers it, no matter what the title of the forum. Jerry

rick_dykstra Posted August 15, 2006 Share #15 Posted August 15, 2006 Well, as you can see with this pic, taken by one of the young ladies with my R8 (ooh, I love this camera!), Leicas work! I was out photographing nature when some better nature showed up. After an hour I couldn't stand by and watch (through my 560 mm lens) them struggle with their 'Chateau del Canvas' any longer. Once it was up we had to have a hero shot. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! haris Posted August 15, 2006 Share #17 Posted August 15, 2006 Just few das ago I entered into caffe bar, put my camera on table and drink a coffe. I noticed one girl looking at my direction (that is at my camera). Well, I finished coffe, wanted to leave when she approached to me. We started to talk and talked from 2 PM to 8 PM. And we met day after and talked for 3 more hours. I won't go further. Oh, yes, camera was Yashica MAT TLR (SORRY LEICA) Ok, hate mails answers from 12 to 2 PM every day except weekend days
haris Posted August 15, 2006 Share #18 Posted August 15, 2006 And this M or R (that is is size important) part of this thread reminds me of one comedy in which there is one line like: "Porshe... You maybe can't have sex in it (because of its space), but with it sex is guaranteed..."
