Hi Guys.

I love my Q2. I have no problem using it cropped to 75mm. From what I have read most users (reviewers) would not use it at 75mm because it is only 7mp. Now Lightroom has a new enhance mode which bumps up the resolution to twice the size. I tried it out and of course on screen the image is a lot larger of the enhanced photo. I could not get my head around posting 2 usefull examples that would make this clear in this thread (72dpi is hardly sufficient), but what do you guys think? Does this Lightroom feature make the Q2 even more great then it allready was?

Probably...especially since you are using the area in the center of the image, I assume (where it is sharpest). The Super resolution feature is very good at taking an already sharp image and making it bigger. I have tried it on the SL2 with the 50mm APO summicron and I was very impressed. My work is exhibition printing and I would have no hesitation to use this to help make better large prints. There is no substitute for true resolution, but interpolation is getting better and better with the AI enlarging algorithms. I have noticed in the past that pixel quality at 100% is a better indicator of print quality than absolute resolution in most cases (you can't interpolate soft files well, but sharp files interpolate very well), so if you have a very sharp lens and a very sharp original, its size can be increased quite readily. As always, there are limits...
