V-Lux 114 clock problem

Hi all from Sydney Australia.

      I noticed your moderator Stuart posted with a v-l 114 clock problem some years ago and was wondering whether anyone now has any updated information on the subject. I bought mine pre-owned but in as new condition from a deceased estate and the clock battery (capacitor?) never worked ie, the date and time needs to be reset after changing batteries. I've tried leaving the camera on to recharge the power source etc but to no avail. I notice the original setup booklet mentions the back-up battery is recharged from the main battery even if it runs flat by leaving camera without battery.

      I would really like to find out what I'm dealing with here as I'm confident I could dismantle it and solder in a new battery if that's all it involves. Thanks for any wisdom offered.
