A few more Sls2 setup questions from a new user :) (Profiles and Enhanced Liveview)

Dear sl users what's the use of the default profile given i cannot change it, by reading the manual it says you cannot store any change, if that's the case why not let the users define their own default profile or at least move it to the end of the list of profiles. Can the profile list be sorted? Let me move the default one to the end?

Also is it possible to assign the enhanced live view functionality to a FN button? Or can it be set such that the camera activates it automatically under low light circumstances?

Thanks!

this will help you if you dont have it already > https://en.leica-camera.com/content/download/196806/5255103/version/8/file/EN_SL2-S.pdf

Have you actually read the manual, or actually even read the questions I posted?

The manual clearly says,

".....plus the factory setting, which is always available and cannot be modified (Default Profile)."

Why will they give you a hardcoded profile? It's a stupid design decision. Given that not always everything is in the manual, I was wondering if there was a way at least to move it to the end of the list of profiles.

Regarding assigning enhance live view settings, is not even in the manual, but it is in the firmware v2.0 reference, (and no mention about been able to assing it to a FN button).

Once more they seem to have done a half-cooked design...

"The function will be inactive even if Enhanced Live View is set to On if there is sufficient ambient light", so yes that great since if you leave it on it will work as if it was on automatic, but then here comes the stupid design decision, if it's not active, given there is enough light, why still disable focus peaking? Yes i can understand it can't work with both settings, (especially due to light conditions), but as they clearly mention, it's not active when there is enough light, so why disable the peaking?

I understand people here are trying to be supportive... and its free support, so not much to complain about, but if you are going to reply with RTFM kind of answer, please at least be sure you read it also ;)

= so one can go back to the default setting anytime [in theory]

for the SL01 they did update the pdfs with some of the FW updates, now they dont seem to be doing it

as for why they decided to disable peaking in ELV, its  better if you email customer support

I find it logical that the first profile is Default. when you run into problem with the presets you can always quickly go back to original camera settings.

the Enhanced View setting is probably a focusing and composition helper for low light. It is more useful to focus with AF lenses, or take shots at night or ND filters.
To me it is like using Highlight Metering, it is one of those tools you use when you need it and not all the time. Even if it is active only some time.

Some people will like it and other will like peaking better. It is probably a hardware limitation to have both at the same time. I would imagine that Enhanced View will give you false positive in focus pecking do to low contrast. But like Frame-it said you can ask Leica.
