It's well worth it, I have to say after visiting Zion, it is now at the top of my NP list so far as my personal ranking goes. Here's my Zion and Bryce Canyon Flickr album using both Leica and Pentax gear (I'll be adding more Bronica S medium format film images soon). I found this book to be an excellent planning resource, as well as this one for The Narrows. We went in August and even though it was warm some days, we started early (around sunrise) and the crowds had subsided somewhat. Enjoy! Just place my order on Amazon Allan for the two books, I know my wife will love them and as well as I. I passed many times on my way heading back east but never stopped, always in too much of a hurry, the story of my life, my wife will confirm that. Best regards Hank

Best regards Hank Outstanding, I know those books will serve you well especially the time-of-day recommendations. I planned our trip a month or two in advance, I planned maybe two activities per day (except for The Narrows, that was an all-day event), that worked well for the most part. One thing about park visits, they force you to slow down, especially if photography is a primary goal... have fun!
