Help with Leica X1

Hello! In 2012 I bought the Leica X1: compact camera and a very powerful one. The problem I have is that the White Balance button does not work and the settings jump from item to another. I think it's the battery that's the one that brought it from the factory. Some suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum, Thor. I am sorry to read of your troubles. Jittery settings have been reported by several members of this forum. I suffer, occasionally. I would clean the contacts with an approved contact cleaning fluid (search the forum for recent reference to a specific product)

Try another fully-charged battery, if you have one.

If the WB button was the only problem, shoot a picture in any lighting; press PLAY button; toggle the INFO button and note the setting for White Balance. (Left side of frame, just below halfway). If it is AWB, you can safely continue shooting. If it is not AWB, go to MENU and find User Profiles. Select  Factory Setting. That will default to AWB. However, you may not want the rest of the factory settings. If so, select your own settings and Save as a new User Profile, while retaining the default White Balance.

Should you still suffer problems with jittering, contact your local country Leica agent (Customer Service), describe your fault and allow them to assess the trouble and quote you a repair cost. Despite its age and obsolescence, it is worth repairing if the charge is deemed acceptable.
