willteeyang Posted September 10, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just purchased the SL2-S new. been testing around with it in the studio. after 15-20 minutes i noticed the bottom plate (directly center by the tripod mount area, and the serial plate area. not the battery) is a little bit warm to touch. Coming from the Leica Q2. I've never experience this. Not filming video, just shooting stills with LCD/EVF switch to Auto. w/ native Leica kit lens 24-70 2.8. AF on. internal IBIS on. Just wondering if its normal this camera run a little bit warm. Is it due to the machined aluminum body doing its work dissipating heat? Thanks! Jptsr1 Posted July 15 Share #5 Posted July 15 Found this in 2025 via Google search. I just had the same issue with my SL2. In addition to the center of the baseplate the lens near the mount felt warm as well. Don't see anyone else with the issue so I'll just reset the camera and keep shooting. Maybe it was in my head?
