Crop Frame (Q2) in Capture One

If I'm not mistaken, Lightroom shows the crop frames of your JPEG shots also in the RAW file coming out of the LEICA Q2.

 

Is there a chance to have this crop frame displayed in Capture One as well? It's really annoying not to have it (for my workflow).

This isn't currently available in Capture One, although it has been on the forums / feature request for some time - I think since the original Q. 

I believe it has something to do with the way C1 processes the crop for the sensor to remove the extreme edges as "dictated" by the Leica DNG - you will see in the crop view that a small section around the edge is pre-cropped, so I believe a second crop doesn't work with their processing. Yet. Let's hope. Certainly worth you contacting them to request it, the more of us that do, the more likely it will be incorporated.

For me, the advantages of C1 over LR outweigh this disadvantage.

I agree, there are multiple advantages that make C1 such a lovely tool.

I contacted the C1 support. This is what they wrote back:

Crop Frame of Leica Q2 isn’t supported yet in Capture One.

You aren’t the first to inquire, however, and I’ve added your case to the note for R&D to consider future implementation.
