milesdobson Posted September 1, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I love the photographic quality and always wanted a leica, finally bought an M8/35mm Summicron and 15mm CV. But I am new to rangefinders and reportage style pictures. Loving every minute of it - have never produced such good photos out of the box. However, whilst the kit is superb, the user is a deficient novice... Does anyone know of good quality photography courses focused on using the leica rangefinder. I would like a mix of good technical knowledge and guidance on the use of lens range.(or if I've missed a relevant thread please point me to it) I am a UK based, but will be shooting people (pleasure) and buildings for work (I'm an architect). I am happy to travel to residential courses out of country if the, hopefully forthcoming advice, is good. Very impressed with the quality of the threads and responses from this forum, you all deserve a pat on the back, I just wish I had more time to read them all..... Jager Posted September 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2007 Not a workshop... but a resource you might check out is "Leica M: Advanced Photo School", by Gunter Osterloh Amazon.com: Leica M: Advanced Photo School (A Lark Photography Book): Books: Gunter Osterloh The book has nothing specific to the M8 (its publication preceded the M8's release), but speaks in great detail to rangefinder photography in general.
