Coding Zeiss Biogon ZM 28mm - John Milich?

I have this lens and, in the past, have been able to hand code it using a sharpie. However, since upgrading to the latest firmware, I have been unable to have correctly identified. The camera either thinks it's a 90mm or undefined. I suspect Leica reduced the tolerance in reading the code.

I asked John about this and he said it is doable. He just milled my CV 40mm Nokton and one of the milled wells fell on the screw hole. I just painted on that spot right on the screw using white enamel (I coded my Nokton as a 35mm Lux) and my M8 read it perfectly. Latest firmware. The trick to the new firmware is to paint both white and black.

Hi,

I use the latest firmware and have no problems with black only coding. My lenses are a mixture of Zeiss, Voigtlaender and older Leica. All lenses were done by John Milich.
