Advertisement Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Hi etrigan63, Take a look here What is the URL for my free filters?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cwf Posted September 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2007 http://m8registration.leica-camera.com/snr_en.php It worked (quite) a while back; my first filter arrived, direct from Germany via FedEx, two days ago.
etrigan63 Posted September 1, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted September 1, 2007 Hmmm. I registered via the Leica owner site and this site says my SN is already registered. Not very well coordinated, is it?
etrigan63 Posted September 1, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted September 1, 2007 Upon further research, I have discovered that someone registered this camera for the purpose of ordering filters! I have to contact Dale Labs to see what we can do about this as I am now out two filters.
Laki Posted September 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2007 Hmmm. I registered via the Leica owner site and this site says my SN is already registered. Not very well coordinated, is it? which link did you use to register? on the leica website i see only one link which also automatically leads to the filter ordering. Shootist Posted September 1, 2007 Share #6 Posted September 1, 2007 which link did you use to register? on the leica website i see only one link which also automatically leads to the filter ordering. At the top of every page at the Leica website there is a Customer Area link. That takes you to a series of pages where you can "Register"/"List" the Leica gear you own. I don't think that area has anything to do with registering a M8 for the free filters.

Shootist Posted September 1, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 1, 2007 right, but thats not the link to register the m8 either. Right that's why I said "I don't think that area has anything to do with registering a M8 for the free filters".
carstenw Posted September 1, 2007 Share #9 Posted September 1, 2007 Go to the Leica website, to the M8 page, and there is a registration link there. This is how you get your filters (or find out that someone else has registered them...) Here is the link for the U.K.: LEICA M8 Registration

If not, you should to make sure the warranty has not been assigned to someone else as well or you could be out a lot more than filters, as the warranty is not transferrable. etrigan63 Posted September 1, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted September 1, 2007 It was a demo unit from Dale Labs with full warranty as they are a Leica Dealer. The camera registered fine in the owner area, but someone registered it for the filters.
etrigan63 Posted September 1, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted September 1, 2007 I am happy to report that Dave Farkas called me today and said he will contact Leica USA on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday here in the States) and have my 43mm & 46mm filters sent to me. Dave and Dale Labs are a class act.
