thebaileyhayden Posted August 10, 2021 Share #1  Posted August 10, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi,  I recently purchased some Leica R lenses which have been Declicked and dampened and given an EF mount.  I wondered if it is possible to use an adapter to mount the R's on an M6 body as they now have EF mounts.  Thanks, Bailey

You can find some cheap EOS-to-Leica M adapters. The problem is that you won't be able to focus the lenses via the M6's rangefinder, and the focus scales on the lenses won't be accurate (that's an issue with all adapters, but especially with cheap adapters). Did the lenses come with their original parts, so you can convert them back to R mount? If that's the case, you may have better luck converting them back and using Leica's "R Adapter M." It's a very expensive adapter, but it's much more likely to be built to the right tolerances. Even then, you will want to calibrate them on a digital M so that you can see if any focus compensation is required. You may find, for instance, that you need to turn the focus scale by a few millimeters (always in the same direction) to get perfect focus.
