Anyone with the Q2 Protector: Does your d-ring on the bottom screw just flop around and hang down in use? Sure, the case protects fhe Q2, but it’s now a hazard to whatever I set it down on.

Ordered a pair of SmallRig 838 replacements that look identical — reviews said their d-rings stay put. In the meantime, I made four cut/press marks in the center of the d-ring with wire cutters that expanded the ring and tightened it up so it doesn’t flop around. Kind of looks like handmade jewelry design now, lol.

The SmallRig 838 screws arrived from B&H today, and they work perfectly. They are better made and the d-ring is tighter and stays in the flat position out of the way. The SmallRig screw head is a little wider, and the screw length is longer and threads further into the tripod hole, making it more secure. It also threaded through the case and tripod threads like a dream, whereas the one that came with the case was a little unsure and easy to bind up.
