doctorlol Posted August 31, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted August 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) 'If not, I'll feel betray and will switch to canon, nikon or other brand with similar products but better and cheaper equipment.' Â This quote is the core of the problem. The business case that Leica are now entering, is not focused ( sorry about the pun ) on the evolution of a R10. The poor timing will result in the survival of the company. The Murphy radio valve company and the Edsel car are examples of corporate failure to 'inform and perform' in time for its existing customers to remain with the brand. Â Leica have had their problems in the recent past. This forum is evidence that the company has many loyal customers, but the phenomenon of a 'tipping point' must occur, eventually. Advertisement Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Hi doctorlol, Take a look here The Panasonic L10 is announced. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted August 31, 2007 Share #22 Â Posted August 31, 2007 I find the range of cameras on the market boggling and the rate at which they change boggling too. The world truly does not need as many as there are and I do wonder if they will be chasing a saturating market.
Guest stnami Posted August 31, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted August 31, 2007 Leica has no loyalty in this market something that is highlighted with a very lacklusture interest and sales of the rebadged L1 the D3...... people are just not interested in this type of half hearted effort
harjtt Posted September 1, 2007 Share #24 Â Posted September 1, 2007 I'm not suprised with the design and lay out of the L10 compared to the L1. Panasonic did exactly the same with the LC1 and FZ super zoom range - the top of the range camera, LC1 styling was Leica inspired and with traditional controls while the superzoom's were styled after your DSLR's. I'm dissapointed that they didn;t stick to the L1 control layout for the L10, but I can see them keeping that reserved for the L2/D4 and Pro camera. My own thoughts are that the styling for the Pro could well be very similar to R9, although I could be wrong and that the L2/D4 will keep the current style but perhaps smaller.
