I think the photo could be moved to the Digital Processing sub forum. 🤭

Thanks, that's fine. A short description is always helpful. Is your Zeiss Sonnar an old lens? My new Sonnar has just 10 blades. vor 22 Minuten schrieb giannis: What if the filter *is* the (micro)lens(es)? 😏 Never heard about this. Do you take photos without a lens but a filter in front of your camera? That'll be interesting, maybe you have some photos how it looks like?

Yes, it's the original version for the Contax rangefinders (I, II, IIa). 2 minutes ago, 01maciel said: Never heard about this. Well that was a bit tongue in cheek on my part 😇 It's just a special filter (that goes on top of the lens), that is made up with droplet-like microlenses that scatter light somewhat, giving a softfocus effect that is different to uniform diffusion (i.e. it affects sources of light much more). To my knowledge, only Zeiss (now B+W) and Hoya make such filters (Zeiss calls them Softars and come in 3 strengths, Hoya calls them Softener and come in 2 strengths). giannis Posted July 17, 2021 Share #51 Posted July 17, 2021 2 hours ago, 01maciel said: Is it a M39 mount and rangefinder coupled? Nah mine is Contax Bayonet mount and I use it on a Contax IIa, and on digital with an adapter made from the mount of a Kiev 4 body (Contax II clone). The Contax 50mm lenses are particularly hard to adapt in general, because they lack a focusing helicoid, since that is built into the Contax bodies. There are some that came in M39 from the factory, but those are quite rare. And yes you're right, the Jupiter-3 is an exact clone, more like a clone under license technically speaking, of the prewar Sonnar. IIRC it has the same number of blades and everything is the same as the prewar Sonnars, with the exception of barrel material (brass vs aluminium in the Jupiter, the Sonnar is heavier), and coatings (virtually all Jupiters have it, while very few prewar Sonnars do). After the war, the Sonnar got recalculated, but the optical formula didn't change iirc, it was a simple recalculation for the indices of new types of glass, T coating, and (unfortunately, for my taste) 11 ninja-star aperture blades, which I'm guessing they did to minimise somewhat focus shift. I really like the Sonnar look and the old Sonnars and Jupiters (50mm f/1.5, 85mm f/2) are excellent examples of that look, and the new 7Artisans 50mm f/1.1 is an *excellent* example of that look too, and at a very affordable price thankfully. The Contax RFs (and Kievs) are quite nice cameras to use too, btw. Only let down by their VFs, if we're judging from a modern perspective (the M3 with its great viewfinder changed the lanscape radically, when introduced). But from the perspective of the time they were introduced, ironically they had the best VF, since it was a combined vf-rf.
