herewardcarrington Posted June 9, 2021 Share #1 Â Posted June 9, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Any recommendations for a working studio flash setup, preferably with TTL support? I found a few articles, but those mostly were some unstable improvised solutions. I hope there are remotes/flashes for real-world studio use. If there are any proven setups you know of, please let me know. All suggestions are highly welcome.

Photoworks Posted June 10, 2021 Share #2  Posted June 10, 2021 This has been talked about before if you search Just to clarify  there is no TTL studio flash and most likely in studios shoot it is preferred a manual setting to control the light. In manual mode most triggers with canon and Nikon mount trigger lights. TTL only Leica flash and some Nissin with updated firmware
LocalHero1953 Posted June 10, 2021 Share #3  Posted June 10, 2021 What sort of set up are you planning: professional, amateur? How many devices, power? What modifiers do you wish to use? As others have pointed out the only TTL units are the basic Leica hotshoe strobes and perhaps the Nissin. Are these adequate for your studio? They would not suit a full professional studio, but then a full studio set up is less likely to work in TTL. And TTL with multiple off-camera light sources is not something that works well in practice - you're better off using flash metering, modelling lights or just trial and error in this digital age. I come in at the strictly amateur end of the business, with no permanent studio, but my kit is designed for portability, pop-up studio, or location. I find that Godox does the job well: a couple of Godox AD200 and a V850, controlled and fired from an XPro trigger. I meter with a Sekonic L-478, and I have a range of stands, brollies, softboxes, backgrounds, and a large Lastolite Hilite. Strictly I could do with another device (2 front lights, backlight and hair light), but somehow I've never quite needed it.
