grduprey Posted August 29, 2007 Share #21 Posted August 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I see no moire at all anywhere in the photo. Looks fine, but a clearer day would have been nicer. Gene
Advertisement Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Hi grduprey, Take a look here m8 moiree pattern. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
barjohn Posted August 30, 2007 Share #22 Posted August 30, 2007 Thanks to Mark Smith that saw my posts on DPR, here is one of the simplest and best techniques I have seen for cleaning up moire in PS. The Unsharp Mask You can get the original DNG from my web site at: http://www.barjohn.com/photos/wedding.dng I hope this helps others.
Mark Antony Posted August 30, 2007 Share #23 Posted August 30, 2007 Thanks John, As an aside after downloading the DNG I found that C1 LE (Mac) pretty much cleared the moiré, obviously that won't be the case all the time and its then that the technique above will be needed. barjohn Posted August 30, 2007 Share #24 Posted August 30, 2007 C1 LE (Mac) does not reduce the moire anything like the Windows version (unless you found some secret settings I missed:)
Mark Antony Posted August 30, 2007 Share #25 Posted August 30, 2007 John, my version (3.77) eradicated it almost completely, in fact it was better than your windows version shots posted here. I'm not at my Mac at the moment will post image later Mark
barjohn Posted August 30, 2007 Share #26 Posted August 30, 2007 Mark, I have 3.7.7 and I can compare side by side running Parallels so I am running Windows version and Mac version. The Windows version is far better. I then took the Windows version and ran it through our process and the Moire is virtually gone from a printing perspective.
