Exposure preview appears overexposed on SL2

Hi all!

When I use the camera in continuous AF and half press the shutter to get focus and exposure.. the preview is always overexposed. It doesnt seem to show the actual exposure that I will get if I took the picture.

Is there a way to change this to 'what I see is what I get??'. It doesn't behave like this in Single AF. When using single AF when I half press the shutter and hold, what I see 'exposure' is always what my final image is.

I hope thats not confusing i don't know how to better explain lol.  Would love if someone could chime in if its my settings!
