I am using a brand new Q2M for about a month. Initially dng files, straight from the SD card and imported into Lightroom, indicated the presence of the built-in profile. Now, this no longer shows up. Does the mean there’s some issue with the camera and/or processor or is it Lightroom? Does it matter? The photos basically appear perfect to me.

In Lightroom, in the Library module, you can view the EXIF data from each image. If your photos correctly identify the camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed etc. then your camera is working properly. In this case it must be something in Lightroom preventing the Q2M profile from being applied.

Thanks for that. Yes, all the EXIF data is correctly written for each file. My understanding from multiple sources, (Sean Reid, e.g.,) is that the lens-correcting data is written into every dng produced by the camera and cannot be removed or ignored by Lightroom. So I don’t understand why files created at one time indicate the built-in profile is applied whereas at others no such indication appears at all.

Problem solved. Embarrassingly, uninstalling Lightroom Classic and then reinstalling it has solved the problem. The phrase, 'Built-in Lens Profile applied,' now appears regularly in the lens corrections panel. Prior to this the profile was clearly applied but without the notation. Simply rebooting and/or restarting Lightroom did not work.
