eyedoc1968 Posted August 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi you guys I wonder if anyone else has had gradual declines in the quality of picture focus with a CM? I have put about 100 rolls of film through the camera, all of which have been sublime. However, the last few rolls that I have put through have given at least half of the roll of out of focus pictures. On each occasion I checked the dial to make sure it was on AF, but still the pictures have become pretty awful. Any suggestions? Josslyn

bobtodrick Posted August 27, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 27, 2007 I'd recommend you do a 'real' test. I've put through a couple hundred roll through my CM and it is as sharp as the day I got it. No camera should just gradually loose focus. But a real test is in order. Put the camera on a tripod. Aim it at something with good contrast that the sensor can 'grab'. Use the self timer or the Leica electric cable release. Every so often I'll start to think my cameras are loosing focus...invariably I do the above test and the images are tack sharp. It reminds me to watch my shutter speed, breathe properly, and squeeze the shutter. I especially find that the lack of 'feel' in electronic shutter releases like that in the CM promotes one to 'stab' at the button rather than squeeze. If the above test come out unsharp I'd send it away.
