Brian Puccio Posted February 18, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a LTM Voigtlander 15mm that I’ve been using on my M6 (along with a Leica trio 28/50/90). I have an SL now and was thinking of upgrading to an 18mm lens that would work much better on the SL. It seems the WATE at 18mm is sharper across the frame than the Leica 18mm. If I wanted to avoid the bulk (and cost) of the Universal Wide Angle Finder (“Frankenfinder”) with my M6, would I be able to get by with just an 18mm external cold show viewfinder? 18mm framelines for that focal length and the area outside the framelines for 16mm? Yes, 21 would be a guess at best, but I’m ok without that. Thanks!
Advertisement Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Hi Brian Puccio, Take a look here Use 18mm Viewfinder for WATE to cover 16mm and 18mm?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John McMaster Posted February 18, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 18, 2021 If it fits inside the 18mm framelines then good, if not 16mm is the only option 😉 john
