sminteer Posted February 11, 2021 Share #1 Â Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been frustrated several times with the EV being inadvertently set to a negative value. I never notice until it's too late, have to train myself to check from now on. Don't know how it gets set, maybe I'm accidentally pushing it on the touchscreen, I don't know. Can't find a way to lock it or set it to auto-set. Edited February 11, 2021 by sminteer
Advertisement Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Hi sminteer, Take a look here SL2 EV Setting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Tailwagger Posted February 13, 2021 Share #2  Posted February 13, 2021 (edited) Ran into this early on, but never explored it could be mitigated via a lock, so I cant help you there. What I can tell you is how it was happening in my case.  While shooting, both with the SL and Ms, I have a tendency not to switch them off, relying instead on the camera going to sleep. Not a problem with the M, with the SL2 I realized after a bit that the dial was often bumped on the way into the bag, either as my finger brushed it or by the bag's wall or divider catching it. As the camera had yet to go to sleep, it dutifully altered the EV. If you too are not shutting the camera down prior to stowing it, being extra careful or getting into the habit of turning the camera off will likely address the issue.  I'd suggest also that setting the sleep timeout to the minimum might be in order as well as depending on how tight things are, it's possible the dial might move once in situ as well. Edited February 13, 2021 by Tailwagger
