miami91 Posted August 23, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted August 23, 2007 I need a good zoom telephoto lenses to work with my Leica Digilux 3. Can anyone advise me me please..... Â The Olympus Zuiko 50-200 mm is a fantastic lens -- sharp images and nice bokeh. You can also pair it with an Olympus 1.4x teleconverter, and in exchange for a loss of one stop the reach becomes 560 mm (in 35mm equivalence). It's a big lens, but any telephoto zoom is going to be large. Â Jeff.
miami91 Posted August 24, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted August 24, 2007 Here's a few shots to give you an idea of the characteristics of the Olympus Zuiko 50-200 lens. Please note that these are all at ISO800, and have not had noise reduction applied. So they're a little grainy (chroma noise particularly evident on cardboard box). I've only shot this lens around home and the office (owned it less than 3 months), and given the threat of lens shake with a lens this long, shooting wide open and with higher ISO is necessary to guarantee a shutter speed above 1/150 when indoors and/or in poor light. Â The one of the shipping label (box from B&H) were taken in my office the day I received the lens! This gives a good indication of the very shallow depth of field (even on a 4/3 sensor). Â Jeff.
