Mine does a tiny bit. Really tiny. I don't use it much. I keep the camera on single point focus and try to find something contrasty on the same plane to establish focus, if you see what I mean. Focus/recompose.

 

ps sorry, I should add I keep the focus on the back button, leaving the top button for shutter actuation. If you're new to the camera you might think about locking/switching off the video button in the menu, as you fingers can foul it at inopportune moments and then you'll be trying to remember how to stop it video-ing while your subject is anxiously waiting for you to take his or her photo!

Thank you! That is reassuring to know.  It is a really small amount of movement.  I do plan on using the autofocus most of the time, but I've read about focus rings loosening up and so I  started to worry.  I'll look into switching off the video button.  Thank you for the Advice!  I'm going to go use it now!
