Fotograffer Posted December 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought a used Q 116 and was wondering if the focus ring on the q 116 wiggles a little bit when trying to pinpoint the focus. It doesn't wiggle much, but it still annoys me. I guess I'd be reassured if it happens to others as well or could be easily fixed. Advertisement Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Hi Fotograffer, Take a look here Leica Q 116 focus ring wiggle . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
antigallican Posted December 21, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2020 (edited) Mine does a tiny bit. Really tiny. I don't use it much. I keep the camera on single point focus and try to find something contrasty on the same plane to establish focus, if you see what I mean. Focus/recompose. ps sorry, I should add I keep the focus on the back button, leaving the top button for shutter actuation. If you're new to the camera you might think about locking/switching off the video button in the menu, as you fingers can foul it at inopportune moments and then you'll be trying to remember how to stop it video-ing while your subject is anxiously waiting for you to take his or her photo! Thank you! That is reassuring to know. It is a really small amount of movement. I do plan on using the autofocus most of the time, but I've read about focus rings loosening up and so I started to worry. I'll look into switching off the video button. Thank you for the Advice! I'm going to go use it now! B
