Left: Laeiszhof, built 1897-98 for the shipping company F. Laeisz* (still their main office today), Bernhard Hanssen, Wilhelm Emil Meerwein and Martin Haller. Right redbrick building: Haus der Patriotischen Gesellschaft** von 1765, Theodor Bülau 1845 – 1847, using back-then modern technologies like a concrete footing and water-closets. StS Posted December 22, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted December 22, 2020 The Laeiszhof was undamaged in the last war; in the left upper corner of the picture the tower of St Nicolai can be seen, where only this tower survived the war.
