erniethemilk Posted December 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hit or Miss on an M10-P? I have the 35mm f2.5 CS which I’ve been very impressed with and have been looking at these as a wide angle option for a bit of landscape and woodland photography. The reviews I’ve come across on line are a bit mixed, wondering what the thoughts are here, particularly for use on the M10 given they are cheap as chips. Simone_DF Posted December 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2020 You are probably better served by the updated f3.5 version, which is optimized for digital
Cobram Posted December 18, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 18, 2020 Dear erniethemilk, I own Color Skopar 21mm F4 and use it with my M-E 220 Leica Camera (M9). Therefore I can not comment regarding performance on M10. On my Leica SL is a poor performer near edges and in corners. On M-E there is almost no color shift when applying Elmarit 21mm profile. Rendering is nice, very sharp, B&W photos really pop. Colors are OK but not Leica like (comparing for example to my Summicron 28). From half a year experience with this lens I think it is one of the best Voigtlander lenses. Sharp, tiny, easy to focus :-) , dirty cheap with nice colors. If you plan to use it for nature landscape photography then I recommend Leica alternatives. Color Skopar weakest property is IMHO color rendering of green scenery.
Jean-Michel Posted December 18, 2020 Share #4 Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) I had the older version of the VC 21 f/4 , first purchased to use on film Ms, and then used on an M9 and M-P. On the digital M's, in spite of trying various profiles, most times the files need to go through Cornerfix, which does an amazing job of removing the 'Italian flag' issue. LR has a flat field plugin that would also fix that issue, Zero issued for b&w work of course. At the time, the lens came with the plastic viewfinder and cost less that the 21 mm Leica finder alone! I was happy using it. I traded it for a WATE, which cost ssssssslightly more 🙂 Edited December 18, 2020 by Jean-Michel typos 1
