P1505 Posted December 17, 2020 Share #1  Posted December 17, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello. Going round in circles on this one. I want a simple manual flash unit that I can shoot off camera if needed. It’s just to light up the room a tad for family shots nothing major. I’d like to bounce it off the walls or ceiling. It’ll get occasional use. I was thinking about the Godox TT350N. I have an SF24D but can’t lower the output on that enough so everything is lit up like Christmas, and as I said I’d like to point the unit at the ceiling etc. I don’t need TTL I always shoot manual, I’m just very new to flash. I do like the idea of sticking a soft box on it. Ideas and thoughts welcome 🙏

P1505 Posted December 19, 2020 Author Share #3  Posted December 19, 2020 Well it arrived but is disappointing. On the SL the EVF flashes and it appears the ISO is constantly changing. Turn the flash off and the problem stops. I have the flash and camera in manual mode. Ill hunt around and read up but it appears it’s not working. P1505 Posted December 19, 2020 Author Share #4  Posted December 19, 2020 Update, as I got it to work. I taped up all the pins I don’t need, it’s working well now. Fully manual only. Got this flash for £60 delivered. It recharges quickly, it’s tiny and light, and I can use it to trigger multiple other flashes if I every need it. I will go play.
P1505 Posted December 20, 2020 Author Share #5  Posted December 20, 2020 Flash plus 21mm is so much fun. Only family pics right now which I don’t share but looking forward to travel restrictions being lifted so I can try it out on the street. You can point the camera away from people and still get them, which for somebody who likes “playing the the edges” as I was once told, is a lot of fun. Anakronox Posted December 23, 2020 Share #6  Posted December 23, 2020 No need to tape pins... just set the exposure preview to P-A-S and not P-A-S-M.  If in the future you need more units, the Godox V860II and V350II models work great off camera when paired with the XPro-N commander.
P1505 Posted December 23, 2020 Author Share #7  Posted December 23, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ll give this a try. Not sure it was an exposure preview thing as it kept changing the ISO. But I’ll try. I’m still unsure of the PAS and PASM.
