Advertisement Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Hi bayerische, Take a look here Lens coding. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted August 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 22, 2007 Andreas-- Yes, and there are many threads on the forum about doing just that. See also Reid Reviews for some tips and caveats. Not all lenses can be coded, of course. John Milich makes screw to bayonet adapters milled to accept the lens codes posted online by Carsten Whimster. I believe that some users have removed the lens flange of their bayonet mount lenses and sent them to John or another machinist for milling. Some users have had Zeiss change mounting flanges to make the lenses more compatible with the M8 firmware's expectations. Others have had Leica mount a 90mm coded flange on their uncodable 135's to get some recognition from the camera. Use the forum search function and you'll find plenty of suggestions! --HC
guidomo Posted August 22, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 22, 2007 Yes, tips on this are all over the place and Google is your friend. But FWIW this: I believe that some users have removed the lens flange of their bayonet mount lenses and sent them to John or another machinist for milling. --HC is what I would recommend. Durable solution, relatively cheap and a quick turnaround.
