Hello

Has anyone on here gone back to the Q from the Q2? Any regrets? I have a Q2 and love it but don’t use it much as I use my other system much more. I had contemplated selling it and had it up for sale but decided not to as I figured I would regret it eventually. I really enjoy shooting with it and so thought maybe selling and getting a Q would be a good “compromise”. The Q2 is just a pricey camera to have and not getting the use it should.

What are your other systems? Hobbist or professional?

The Q2 is quite different from the Q, in my opinion. The files produced by the two cameras are going to satisfy different groups of photographers and I've never found myself in the position of wanting the extra resolution from the Q2 over the Q, so a Q would save you some cash if you are in a similar position, but if you aren't finding a lot of use with the Q2, then I doubt you are going to find much use with the Q either.

I think you will regret to step down to the Q.
However the best would be to borro/rent a Q for a few days and use her to see if you are fine with her or not.

I went from the Sony a7rii 42mp to a 24mp and right away missed the resolution. I love the ability to post crop and not lose detail. Makes it easier for me to travel with less lenses. I always loved the q but wanted more mp. Happy that the q2 has improved resolution but yes might not be for everyone.

I have many different systems, including Contax 645 + HB digital back, M240, SL, CL, etc. (and the already sold Sony A7xxx).  Now my favorite gears are Leica XV + XU, though it could be other camera with a mid & moderate range zoom (28-70 or 24-90) and a camera with a fast prime. (eq. 35mm or 50mm, >f2). I can't see I carry only one prime lens.

But I might add a Q2 to my SL + 24-90mm as another zoom/fast-prime combination. I doubt Q + SL24-90mm would fit  that need.
