New patent of a 300 2.8 Sigma

It appears that Sigma is considering to release also long primes in the future and I bet we will see them already the next year.

If I'm not wrong there are patents for at least the following tele lenses: 200 f/2, 300 f/2.8, 400 f/4

I'm curious to know if there would be anyone interested in the use of these lenses in the L mount since the system is usually considered not good for sport and fauna.

Personally I would be really interested in one of these lenses, 300 f/2.8 or 400 f/4 in particular, hoping for a good usability also with the TC 2011 I recently ordered, considering I'm already really satisfied with the current AF-C DFD (despite of the critics).

I'm sure Sigma will surprise us with acceptable price (that's my main concern) and weight.

Good news! 400mm f4 for me; 300mm is in the short end despite f2.8 and thus 600mm f5.6 with an 2x extender. In addition, SL90-280 already has the 300mm-ish reach. Another factor in favour of f4 is that f2.8 lenses are generally large/heavy compared to their f4 siblings. Fresnel optics may alter this, but I guess Sigma comes with conventional optics. Time will tell...
