Playing with the idea of getting a 2nd hand MP in black paint.
Have been searching for a 0.58 BP MP but so far to no avail.
So if none is available, how about a 0.72 finder and change the viewfinder into 0.58, does anybody have an idea of cost of this operation?
Also, when did they change the ISO dial? I have seen serial 2,9xx with both.
Thanks in advance!

Hello Patrick, I ordered my new M-A from my regular Leica M dealer in Bordeaux back in July and asked if it could be delivered with a .58 viewfinder, they checked with Leica and the answer was a hesitant "yes" but it would mean  that the camera would have to have the work done after it's sale and delivery with the regular .72 viewfinder, in other words at an addition Leica Service cost that was estimated to be around €+600. I love a '58 finder because I only very rarely mount a lens longer than 50mm, ( I've only one anyway, a 75mm f1.5 VC Nokton ), and in fact a 28mm focal length is my "normal". I decided against the conversion and the extra cost primarily because I do have a good M7 with a .58 finder............But the .72 M-A when I got it in August had the so called "improved" finder and frankly I find myself being ok with it, even at 28mm.

So, the answer is "perhaps"...........I am sure that Leica must have spare .58 finder parts in stock somewhere, so it's worth asking their Customer Service people if this can still be done if you find a used MP, otherwise an used "factory" MP .58 will be as rare as hen's teeth, ( had one, sold it, still regretting the foolishness ! ).

Good luck!
