Leica28 Posted October 18, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Found this one on youtube. Shows what a little work (color grading, audio sweetening, etc) and an imaginative mind can do with the awesome Q2
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Hi Leica28, Take a look here Leica Q2 video capability. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PhotoCruiser Posted October 21, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2020 The Q2 is certainly not a very good video camera, but using the video function with care and considering the limits the camera was designed for awesome clips can be achived. Leica28 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted October 23, 2020 Working with the Q2 in video mode is something that requires time and effort. Great results can be accomplished - just not easily. I still use my Panasonic AG-HSC1UP for a lot of stuff. Very low quality compared to 4K cinema, but it's still fun for me. Again you are limited only by your imagination and willingness to put in the work to get things they way you want them. In the example video above, he was shooting in Macro mode on the Q2. I have rented the SL2 many times. Awesome camera. Produces great images. Just too large and heavy for me for general tooling around the town. I carry my Q2 with me just about everywhere. It makes me happy.
Leica28 Posted October 24, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted October 24, 2020 Sorry I can't comment properly about the SL2 video AF. Never used it for video functionality.
dantemi Posted November 7, 2020 Share #5 Posted November 7, 2020 (edited) SL2 video capabilities are good but AF still shows it limits as a contrast detection type AF. My (ex) Sony rx100 VII did much much better...! In general, I think that manual focus should be preferred! Edited November 7, 2020 by dantemi
Leon_is Posted December 7, 2020 Share #6 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) I made a short vide with Leica Q2. I am not a videographer, so it's one of my first attempts. Leica Q2 Video, Autofocus Edited December 7, 2020 by Leon_is
Leon_is Posted December 7, 2020 Share #7 Posted December 7, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you Steven ! I slowed down to 40% the movie wich had a framerate of 24 fps. I already made a stabilisation with Davinci Resolve, but was filmed without stabilizer.
Leon_is Posted December 7, 2020 Share #8 Posted December 7, 2020 Thank you...i know all this, but i wanted to be in 4k, and Leica Q2 has only 24 fps :D..next time i will try only with Full HD 120 fps. I am more a photographer but like to make short films from where I go...
Leon_is Posted December 7, 2020 Share #9 Posted December 7, 2020 I am tempted also to use 120 fps, because i think i will have a more fluid movie, at 30 fps... Anyway i will try and i will make better clips with Q2 in the future . There are not so many movies made with Q2 on YouTube...i understand that it's not e very good camera for filming, and you don't have 10 bit, but i like very much 28mm 1.7 and the colors from this sensor... Thank you for your time.
