stargazer010 Posted October 3, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 3, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) My camera shows significant backlight bleeding at the left border. Especially with bright subjects it gets also brighter at the left border, see photo Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Hi stargazer010, Take a look here Leica Q2 Backlight Bleeding. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stargazer010 Posted October 3, 2020 Author Share #2 Posted October 3, 2020 oops, the message somehow got cut off. I was wondering, if this is a normal thing for the Leica Q2 and if anybody can repoduce this?
dml84_L Posted October 4, 2020 Share #3 Posted October 4, 2020 According to Leica this is normal behavior - which is a shame for that price. I contacted them several times, but they don't seem to bother. It took me three attempts to get a camera without any problems. They use a old TFT-LCD instead of OLED/LED. Still there are differences, the cameras I had before, they had worse display bleeding than the one I have now. If it is a new camera I would contact Leica. You might send it back and go to a local store and check it before you buy (that's how I did it) It's ridiculous but the sad truth...
dml84_L Posted October 4, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 4, 2020 (edited) Mine looks like this. Leica could simply make the frame bigger, overlaying the actual display. Would fix the issue. Or simply use different panels. It's just that bright vertical light on the left, still they should fix that and exchange displays. Have to say mine is "ok" now, I can live with that. It's up to you. stargazer010 Posted October 4, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted October 4, 2020 Okay, does not look that different from mine. I can live with it, although I find it a bit sad, as you said, in this price. There are many much cheaper cameras that do not suffer from this.

Well, I would complain about it so they might fix it in a "Q3". It's almost perfect hardware, except the backlight...
