mmk60 Posted August 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Folks, I had an opportunity to go and see one of those drag racing events this weekend, and of course I took my M8, instead of Fuji Pinepix S2Pro w/ a zoom lens, for some challenge. My wee worries were: No zoom lens No continuous autofocus No fast continuous shutter release I used a 50 cron from the ground stand and a CV15 in the pit area. The outcome was rather pleasant. f8 ISO 160 Shutter speed 1/1000s Single shutter release Auto white balance (I used my WhitBal card occasionally) Despite the speed (Top Fuel guys reach 300m/p at the finish line!), I was able to follow them and get some decent photos. Thanks to "no block out" in the view finder! And I was honored to meet the legend racer, Mr John Force and his daughter, Ms Ashley Force. She beat cr*p out of the boys, reaching 315mph:D

abrewer Posted August 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2007 Mashu, you need to be posting images like these over in the Sports & Leisure section of the Photo Forum: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/sports-leisure-time/ Take a look over there and you'll find that most of us who visit that area are complete petrol-heads, and numerous shots of cars on and off the track with various cameras/lenses/films etc. Thanks.
