Henry Taylor Posted September 25, 2020 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got my new MP240 and wanted to try out with an Electronic Viewer with my Summicron R . Now what I need to get is a good used Leica M 35mm and a good M 90 probably a used Summicron. I'm starting to like the MP240, a little learning curve, but finding its got more to offer then the old M9 I use to have. I know it won't replace the Z6 but its going to complement my shooting. I find that using the R lenses is easier with the Z6 then with the MP240. Therefore planning on using only M lenses with this baby. Welcome, dear visitor! bscott Posted September 25, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 25, 2020 Was there a problem with your Nikon Z6?

bscott Posted September 26, 2020 Share #4 Posted September 26, 2020 I am trying to decide if I should get a Z6 for my M and R Leica lens and would like to know your opinion. Also did you have the Nikon zoom lens with the Z6 and how is that lens?
Henry Taylor Posted September 27, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Good question, I find that because the Nikon Z6 is a mirrorless camera using any of the Leica R lenses is not a problem with the proper adaptor. You really don't have to spend a lot of money. I have been using the LR/LM from Fotodiox and I think I paid only $24. The nice thing about the Nikon Z6 it s a lot easier using the R lenses then the MP240. The Electronic viewer VF-2 the I am using with the MP240 works but it a lot quicker with the Z6 or I'm sure with any other Mirrorless camera. Don't get me wrong , I love my Leica, but when you don't do what its really was designed to do, "a camera that is noted for its speed and quickness". Using the VF-2 slows you down. I'm going to set up my MP 240 with 3 Leica M Lenses, 35 - 50 - and 90 and save my R lenses for the Z6. That's my opinion I'm sure there are many out there that may disagree with me, but that's ok. Sorry nearly forgot. Yes I have the new 24-70 f4 that is a great lens with the Z6. Best regards Hank Edited September 27, 2020 by Henry Taylor forgot about the zoom
bscott Posted September 27, 2020 Share #6 Posted September 27, 2020 Thanks so much for all your helpful comments. What is your opinion of the Nikon zoom lens compared to the R Leica lens that you used on the Z6?
Henry Taylor Posted September 27, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) my opinion is the are both good lenses but if you are thinking of getting the Z6 and don’t have a zoom lens the my recommendation is to get then the 24-70 Nikon since it’s designed for the z bodies . The f4 is really a great one instead of the 2.8 mm will save some cash . When I got mine I wasn’t sure it would be as good as reported - it made me a believer! bscott Posted September 27, 2020 Share #8 Posted September 27, 2020 Thanks again for your help. I have gone around in circles about this for a long time but I also like the Z6 and was thinking about giving it a try. It is good to know your experience with the Z6 and that gives me some comfort in the purchase. I have a 28mm R, 60mm macro, 100mm 2.8 macro and a 250 f4 that I haven't used for a long time and that has been a disappointment for me. The M lens I use on occasion with my M3 which helps but I would like the digital outlet for processing and printing.
