I think if you can have both, you should find each of the two has its irreplacible strength. I actually want to invite the experiences of having fun on wider range of focal length vs. wider/faster aperture. But this title might be more spicy! Advertisement Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Hi Einst_Stein, Take a look here V-LUX-5 vs. D-LUX-7. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lykaman Posted September 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted September 18, 2020 Aloha, great topic, well never owned the 5, I had the D-Lux 4 and although I could not fall in love with the camera it certainly produced the goods.. Recently went for the 7 ~ very versatile and great results.. Colors are not as deep as say the X1 or even the D-Lux 4, but never the less a great travel companion. The menu and settings can get little confusing and some settings auto turn Off other settings.. (In RAW you cannot use the full zoom, you have to use the highest VF refresh settings to have other settings available) Apart from these quirks, I love this little gem..I run 2 batteries and have never had any issues on the power side.. I use a SanDisk 32gb Extreme PRO Card SDHC 11- Format in camera, Speed has never been a problem.. I added a circular rubber Lenshood. FOTOS works ok about 95% of the time, sad that RAW cannot be sent across. As I said previously, a great little camera with all the feel & results of true Leica..
