Zooming into the picture in AF Mode?

Hi,

 

I find it quit useful that the Q2 zooms in manual mode, for focusing. Is it possible in AF mode? Havent found the option...

No, that is the option for automatic magnification in manual mode - not AF. I guess it's not possible then.

Zooming in when AF only works with MF. 

Even with spot focus, Q2 often focus on the wrong thing when the background is bright.  I would love to have this AF zoom too.  

Something to write Leica about and perhaps include in the next firmware update.

I have a Q1 not Q2 but I think finding the most contrasty part of the thing you want to be focussed is what makes the autofocus much more accurate. I do it on the back button - focus then recompose.

Never mind—found it. Using AF-L on the zoom button. Not exactly what I had in mind as it must be held or locked/unlocked. I’ll ignore it for now.

You must have a Q2.  The Q does not require the button to be held with Focus set to AFs and zoom button set to AFL.

I'm so glad you posted. I was thinking 'how the hell did I set that up?' I did it once and just keep a copy of the settings on an SD
