My understanding is that the only way to get GPS information for an M is to use a Visoflex, which must be switched on.

But, why can't we do it with Fotos? After all, all mobile phones these days have built-in GPS. So the moment a photo is synced with Fotos, why can't the GPS be encoded into the EXIF. Yes there will be a delay from when the photo is taken and when it is synced, but the location information won't be too different.
